We had a fun day. A few friends and family came to celebrate with my little pirates. I made each of them their own cakes to dig into. It was a long day with lots going on and not much for nap time. At the end of the day, we all felt like Bethany looks in this picture:

Who picked the theme?
Yes, I am the coolest mom on the block (which isn't hard to do when you live in the country and have two neighbors, one of which is a single guy but anyway)... I made the cake and got the idea from Jody over at iowageekonline.com. She's quite the creative mom and I get ideas from her. I used her idea for the cake and then just decided to do a pirate theme. The little kids had eye patches and candy necklaces. Scott had the whole outfit, even though he pee'd through his undies just before we cut cake. Bethany got jacked. She had a cute sunglasses cake but no theme for her. Just pirate stuff.
Great cake! The pirate theme was awesome! And girls like pirate stuff! Especially the shiny stuff!! (thanks for the compliment!)
